We are going to classify animals by what they eat.

We are going to be learning about ECOSYSTEMS this term!

Today we  looking at HABITATS!

What is a HABITAT?

A habitat is the home of an animal or a plant.
Most habitats include a community of animals, plants and water, oxygen, soil and rocks.
Look and listen to the song.




How many habitats are there in the song? 🤔

There are many different types of habitats.

A habitat provides what an animal or plant needs to live.

FOOD, SHELTER (PROTECTION), AIR and WATER 




ACTIVITY
Materials
paper
pencil
coloured pencils or felt pens
  1. Write you name
  2. Fold a paper into 4 pieces. 
  3. In each piece draw a different habitat for eg Jungle.
  4. In the habitat draw and label (write the names of) some animals and plants that live there.
You can choose any habitats and animals you like.
Here is an example.
